Board Member Elections
The following members have been nominated by the OU Credit Union Board of Directors to fill open positions on the Board of Directors. Anyone wishing to be placed on the list of candidates for election to the Board may do so by petition. Nominations for vacancies made by petition must be signed by 500 MSUFCU members. Request an official petition by contacting OU Credit Union's President's Office at 248-364-4708. Each nominee by petition must submit a statement of qualifications and biographical data with their petition. Nominations by petition must be accompanied by a signed certificate from the nominee stating that they are agreeable to nomination and will serve if elected to office. The filing deadline for nominations by petition is November 8, 2021. The election will not be conducted by ballot. There will be no nominations from the floor when the number of nominees equals the number of positions to be filled.
Angela W. Brown
worked at Michigan State University (MSU) in various management and administrative positions, including Director of Housing and Dining, from 1973 to 2012, when she retired as the Director of Auxiliary Resources, Residential and Hospitality Services. Angela currently serves as Chair of the OU Credit Union Board of Directors, and has served on the Board since 2007. Angela also serves on the Board of the Desk Drawer Fund, the Credit Union's foundation. Prior to joining the Board, she served on the OU Credit Union Supervisory Committee. Angela has a bachelor's degree in Social Science and an MBA in Human Resource Management, both from MSU. She has been a member of the Zonta Club of East Lansing Area since 1985, and is also past President of the MSU Retirees Association, currently serving on the Board.
Gregory J. Deppong, CPA
is the Controller at Michigan State University (MSU). As Controller, Greg supports the financial integrity and stewardship of the university by maintaining financial systems, issuing the annual financial statements, and providing for and monitoring internal controls. He has over 30 years of accounting and financial management experience in public accounting and higher education. Greg currently serves as Vice Chair of the OU Credit Union Board of Directors, having served on the Board since 2008. Prior to his board tenure, he served as Chair of the OU Credit Union Supervisory Committee. A certified public accountant, Greg has a bachelor's degree in Accounting from MSU and a master's degree in Public Administration from Western Michigan University. He currently serves on the board of the Central Association of College and University Business Officers.
Steven J. Kurncz
is the Assistant Director of Internal Audit at Michigan State University (MSU), providing an independent and objective evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of various internal controls. Steven served on the OU Credit Union Supervisory Committee prior to joining the OU Credit Union Board of Directors in 2018. He has 20 years of experience in auditing, governance, risk, and compliance at MSU in various campus departments, including internal audit, information security, health information technology, and the MSU HealthTeam. Steven holds three professional certifications: Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Information Security Manager, and Certified Information Systems Security Professional. As a certified auditor, Steven has a bachelor's degree in Business Computer Information Systems from Northern Michigan University, a master's degree in Information Assurance from Walsh College, and a Graduate Certificate in Law Enforcement Intelligence and Analysis from MSU.
