The Desk Drawer Fund, a foundation supporting the MSU Federal Credit Union and OU Credit Union communities, is proud to award four scholarships to graduating seniors from Brandon High School and Clarkston High School. Among the requirements to receive the scholarship, applicants were challenged to maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher, submit a letter of recommendation from one teacher, and submit an essay describing how financial education has impacted them.

Financial Education is one of the Desk Drawer Fund’s five philanthropic pillars, and through this pillar, the foundation is able to engage and educate community members to take charge of their finances.

MSU Federal Credit Union’s Financial Education Department also engages with students from the Brandon School District and Clarkston Community Schools throughout the school year. These lessons span from first grade classrooms through high school and cover topics such as, coin recognition, determining needs versus wants, budgeting, credit, and more.

Congratulations to the 2020 Desk Drawer Fund scholarship recipients!
