Credit Union Employees Race to Make a Difference in Our Communities
The Credit Union supports its core value of giving back to the community by proudly sponsoring and partnering with various local organizations and charities. One of the ways Credit Union employees are able to give back is by participating in local community race fundraisers, each supporting a particular cause. Thus far, the Credit Union has sponsored four local races in 2018.
Kicking off the 2018 race season, employees and their guests celebrated Valentine’s Day at the Heart Throb 5K on MSU’s campus in support of the MSU Triathlon Club. Additional races on included the Annual Shamrock 5K Run-Walk-Roll, supporting the Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities, a MSU organization committed to assisting students with disabilities on MSU’s campus; as well as the Bunny Hop 5K, benefiting the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan.
The Credit Union also sponsored Run for the House, a 5/10K race to help families supported by the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan (RMHMM). This race brought together people from all over Michigan in an effort to assist families who come to RMHMM for medical treatment for their seriously ill or injured children.
The Credit Union encourages employees to give back through local races as they also promote healthy and active lifestyles. Through its internal CU Healthy initiatives, the Credit Union has provided more than 110 race sponsorships to employees and guests this year.
A variety of Credit Union-sponsored races and events are scheduled for this summer and throughout the rest of the year. To sign up and stay up-to-date on upcoming events, please visit our events page.
