Employees Help Welcome Students to Campus at OU's Student Welcome
OU Credit Union helped welcome students to Oakland University’s campus over Labor Day weekend. Some were returning to campus and others were experiencing campus for the first time, and the Credit Union was happy to be there to share in the students’ and their families’ excitement.
Credit Union employees set up a table as students moved into their dormitories, handing out free white boards to hang on doors. There was also a station in front of OU Credit Union’s branch in the Oakland Center where visitors could spin a prize wheel for the chance to win earbuds, sticky notes, a pen/highlighter, lanyard, or $5 cash.
“Going to college is a significant transition for students filled with many changes, including how they manage their finances. Not only is it exciting for us to be here as they move into their dorms, it’s a chance for us to help educate them on responsible money management—a skill that they’ll use throughout their time at OU and beyond,” said Lisa, an OU Credit Union employee.
This year’s student welcome was a successful event, and OU Credit Union looks forward to serving students throughout their time at the university and as they again transition to their careers.
