Steven J. Kurncz - 2021

Steven J. Kurncz is the Assistant Director of Internal Audit at Michigan State University (MSU), providing an independent and objective evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of various internal controls. Steven served on the MSUFCU Supervisory Committee prior to joining the MSUFCU Board of Directors in 2018. He has 20 years of experience in auditing, governance, risk, and compliance at MSU in various campus departments, including internal audit, information security, health information technology, and the MSU HealthTeam.

Steven holds three professional certifications: Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Information Security Manager, and Certified Information Systems Security Professional. As a certified auditor, Steven has a bachelor's degree in Business Computer Information Systems from Northern Michigan University, a master's degree in Information Assurance from Walsh College, and a Graduate Certificate in Law Enforcement Intelligence and Analysis from MSU.
