What are the differences between Courtesy Pay and Overdraft Protection?
All account types are eligible to set up overdraft transfers from another share or line of credit to cover overdrafts or non-sufficient funds. Overdraft transfers are an avenue for funds to draft from another share in increments of $100 if available.
Courtesy Pay covers ACH withdrawals, check clearings, and most recurring debit card transactions if there are not sufficient funds or overdraft protection available within the account at the time of the withdrawal. The benefit of having Courtesy Pay is that the transaction in question would still be able to clear the account successfully, avoiding any potential charges from the receiving institution. Please note that there is a $30 fee for Courtesy Pay transactions within your OU Credit Union account.
