Pay Off Debt Effortlessly with Changed

Changed is a mobile app that helps members pay down your mortgage, auto, personal loan, and even student loans by rounding up everyday purchase and using the spare change to make additional payments. If you spend $2.45 on your next cup of coffee, then $0.55 will be rounded up towards your loans. Roundups eat away at your debt without you even noticing.

How to Get Started:

• Download the Changed app, and create your account.
• Next, link your OU Credit Union accounts with the Changed app.
• Continue set-up by linking your loan(s).
• Once the total roundups exceed $5, a transfer will be made from your OU Credit Union account to your Changed account. When your Changed balance reaches $50, a payment is made to your loan(s).

How does Changed work?

Transfer as little at $5 at your own pace to the Changed account. Once it reaches at least $50, it will automatically transfer to your student loan. You can see when payments will be made, how much you're saving in interest, and how much sooner you'll be debt-free!

Send one-time or recurring transfers of up to $20 to your Changed balance whenever you have change to spare.

How much does it cost?

Changed is free to download from the App Store. Typically there is a $3/month fee for this service; however, fees are currently being paid by the Credit Union when you connect using your MSUFCU ComputerLine log in credentials during this pilot.

How are transactions rounded up?

Changed analyzes transfers on your linked spending account and keeps track of the roundups once the transactions have cleared your account. If you spend $15.48 on your MSUFCU Visa card, Changed will record a roundup of $0.52. You can view and monitor your savings and spending details in the Accounts screen within the Changed app.

How and when are transfers made?

Once roundups reach at least $5, a transfer will be made from your funding account to your Changed savings account. A notification will be sent to let you know that the transfer has been initiated. When your Changed savings account balance reaches a minimum of $50, a payment will be made to your student loan of choice. You can increase this threshold from $50 to $100 in your Savings Preferences. It typically takes between 2-3 business days for a transaction to fully process.
