You will have 4 options to choose from at the end of your lease. You can purchase, trade in, sell or turn in your auto. Each option and what fees associated with each are listed below.

1. Purchase the auto (Buy Out)
• This is a worthwhile option when the vehicle is worth more than the payoff balance.
• If you are looking to buy the vehicle without the usage of a loan, please first contact us to obtain the current buyout price of the vehicle.
• Alternatively, if you are looking for a loan to assist with the buyout, please reach out and we would be happy to take your loan application at any time during the leasing timeframe.
• A purchase fee will be assessed; for the current fee amount, please consult your lease agreement.
• MSUFCU does not collect sales tax on the purchase price; it is your responsibility to pay the sales tax when the vehicle is re-titled.

2. Trade the auto in
• This is a worthwhile option if you would like to look at a different vehicle.
• You can choose this option at any point in your leasing timeframe.
• You may go to any of our participating leasing dealerships to start the process.
• A purchase fee will be assessed; for the current fee amount, please consult your lease agreement.

3. Sell the auto
• You may sell the vehicle to a dealer or a private seller. Please contact us for the payoff amount on your lease to make sure you are selling the vehicle for what is owed.
• This can occur at any point in the leasing timeframe.
• A purchase fee will be assessed; for the current fee amount, please consult your lease agreement.

4. Turn in the auto
• Please note that all payments must be completed prior to turn-in.
•It will be your responsibility to coordinate the pickup location with CULA. Typically, CULA can pick it up from your home or any dealership. If you are outside of Michigan, you will need to contact CULA at 800-878-5400 to arrange the turn-in.
• The vehicle will be inspected by CULA to determine excess wear and tear as well as potential over-mileage to be billed.
• There is a disposition fee for turning in the vehicle; for the current fee amount, please consult your lease agreement.
