Yes, a certificate can be closed before the set maturity date. Please note that once a certificate is opened, it can only be closed by contacting OU Credit Union. There is an early withdrawal penalty associated with closing a certificate before it has matured. The penalty for early withdrawal will depend on the term length of your certificate and the amount being withdrawn.
