Payment has been nothing but a hassle through this bank. My payment method from my main checking account at another bank has been repeatedly deleted. My automatic payment has never worked and seemingly deleted each time I attempt to set it up through the app or over the phone. This is the most frustrating experience I've ever had trying to make on time consistent payments.

Fast track off Debt
This app and this credit union has allowed me to fast track these payments to remove this loan honestly at my own pace. I got a 36 month loan with you guys and I'm sitting just shy of 16 months and I owe less than 40% of my original loan balance. My goal is have this loan done before the halfway mark of 18/36 months, I am so darn close!

Paying off a vehicle that's dangerous to drive
Bought it at 70k miles for 17k. Currently the car is less than I owe. There's several recalls on this thing, that continue to come in with no resolution in sight. I've already replaced the engine once and now it needs replacing again which I cannot afford. So I am forced to pay for a vehicle that is unsafe to drive, expensive to manage, and worthless essentially.

They gave me my first signature loan in the amount of $1,500 and I was only with them for one month I paid that almost totally off and then refine it financed it for a few hundred dollars more I got that paid I turned around and got a credit card they gave me what they gave me and all they just got done making me another loan I got good credit

Using a ready loan check from MSUFCU to buy a car takes the hassle and delays of dealer financing out of car shopping. I have to admit the dealership finance guy was disappointed to not write the loan at closing. They must get commission on your financing.

You should probably check with a dealership first. The interest rates they give at MSUFCU is insanely high. Even though I was a member, the car dealership offered me interest rates that was 3.5% less than what I got from MSUFCU. 100% would not recommend.

I got this lone a few months after turning 18. Starting this journey was the best thing I could of done for myself that set me up for success I was still in high school and had to work my butt off at two job to prove my hard work was enough to keep my truck, in which is now my favorite prize possession. I like that I can make payments from the app, but it would be great if principal only payments were an option on the app too, instead of having to go to a brick and mortar location. This option already exists for home loans, and I love it. Would chang my review to 5/5 if this were added to car loans.

I was able to pay off high interest rate loans by getting a loan from the credit union using my car as collateral. At the time, it allowed me to get a interest rate of 1.99% and pay off debt with interest rates at 10% and higher.

I don't like the fact that when I make an extra payment. It doesn't automatically go towards the principal. It doesn't even give you the option to do so.

My wife & I have secured 4 used-car auto loans through MSUFCU over several years, starting around 2018 and were initially pleased with the rates & service. Last month, we applied for a 5th used-car auto loan and were essentially told to "pound sand". So much for any focus on repaying customer loyalty.
When we applied this time, we were told we could get the loan for 4.1% interest which seemed competitive and reasonable. Less than 3 days later, when we were ready to close the deal on the car, they said the loan would now cost us 5.2% in interest. So we went to another federal credit union and got the same loan (i.e., same amount, same duration) for 4.0%. So we strongly encourage you to shop elsewhere for better rates (and treatment).
When we asked to speak to a manager about this at MSUFCU, she said "There is nothing I can do." How lame is that? Well there is certainly something that we can do -- take our business elsewhere. As soon as our current auto loans are paid off, we will close our MSUFCU account and will never do any other financial transactions through these shysters.
So no, I certainly wouldn't recommend this product/service.

Odd that there is no power steering wheel. Loss of power mirrors to fold after 9 month wait seems silly and would have gladly waited longer for a chip. The plusher new seats are great in the front but the need to remove a seat from the car feels like a HUGE miss on the single best part of the prior minivan for stow and go seats throughout. The middle seats hold car seats, no one ever sits directly on them. Silly Chrysler.

Apparently, when I transferred my loan to my new joint account, I was informed I have no gap (company no longer doing it?), though I have been paying for gap. Not happy about this oversight and the potential of lost money! Now I have to meet a loan officer to find out how much money I lost and why as the rep that informed me had no answers. Upsetting to say the least.

We love our Explorer. With third row seats, heated and cooled front seats, and all you options you could want, this vehicle has treated us well. Strong V6 motor, smooth transmission, and a good turning radius, make driving almost effortless. Only downside on ours, is that it's only a FWD, and not a 4WD. Other than that, we really enjoy our Explorer (this coming from a Chevy guy).

I bought this primarily for work(construction) and I don't condone pickup trucks. The fuel mileage isnt Terrific, the heater core box broke(apparently common, and a lot of labor), and now the transmission pan now has a rust leak. This is the only Jeep product I have ever owned,. I think I will go back to Volkswagen. Mostly due to the poor gas mileage.

This is by far the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. It has the latest technology and it is a smooth ride. It is also very quiet for a soft top! I love putting the top down on warm days. I can't wait to take the Bronco on its next adventure!

If you're living on a tight budget you need gap insurance if you like sleeping soundly at night. Maybe you won't need it -- I hope you don't --but it's one of those things you'll kick yourself for not having if you do end up totalling your vehicle

It works fine, but after I make a few payments, the amount still reflects that I owe the $296 for every month even tho I've already paid over $100 this month so that would be nice to see it reflect that I have made payments so I know exactly down to the dollar and penny how much I owe for my auto loan. :)

I set auto deposit and auto payment towards the car loan. Somehow my payment was not applied and I have been charged an extra $25, hmmmm I always pay $300, which is above my actual payment. Not happy !!!!!!!!!!

Partial Payment Issue
The app is user friendly overall. However, there's one big problem, the total balance is not in real-time & did not reflect partial payments. I called customer care & confirmed that all partial payments apply towards the monthly balance. But the app still says my full balance is due. :(. What's the point of the app if I have to keep my own records separately?

Unwilling to cooperate
I have never had any issues with this credit Union, and I've frequently encouraged others to get an auto loan through them especially as someone who works at a car dealership, because the process was so easy. Fast forward to 3 years later, and I get in a pretty bad car accident and my insurance deems the car a total loss. They've issued payment for the loan in full, but MSUFCU claims they haven't received it yet. Instead of maybe putting a hold on the payment until they receive the check, or even a note on the account, they tell me I need to make the payment. They were rude and unwilling to really help much, and I'm not making a payment on a car that has ALREADY BEEN PAID OFF. I've never made a late payment and my account has always been in good standing so I find it mind blowing how little they are willing to help me.

Giving innacurate info before getting loan
I was told wrong information after I directly asked about this loan. Should've read the fine print. I contacted them when I first got the loan and they "investigated" it but told me there was nothing they could do and I was stuck with it. I highly recommend bringing someone who is extremely knowledgeable in loans and finance with you before consulting The banks OWN agents. This was a little over a year ago and has certainly cost me extra money. Maybe Msu fcu will do something to support their supporters during this pandemic.... probably not....

This car is so well made. It doesn't have problems like you might expect for its age. The engine is smooth and so fun to drive. It is the 2.3 and I wouldn't recommend anything less powerful if you intend to get on the highway. Such a fun car. Cheap to own.

Good little car and pretty dependable. Not really too bad in the snow. Make sure you get a manual shift of you get this car as the transmissions in the automatics are junk. When gas was 2.20 a gallon, I could go to the Mackinac Bridge for 12 bucks. That's not bad at all.

I bought this car used and its been a very good car! It got a great ride, it's comfortable, drives well, and the T5 engine in mine runs like a charm! Seats are supportive, interior is very good quality (some rattles but nothing that bad honestly), everything feels solid. Rear seats are tight but It hasn't been a problem for me cause I don't take more than me and one other person anyways. Trunk is pretty good too, also a bit small however it still gets the job done. I highly recommend this car!

The Flex is a great car for the small or large family. Plenty of space for both people and cargo. With the third row folded flat we can fit tons of stuff, including 5 sets of golf clubs. Having the 2nd row folded flat, along with the front passenger seat, you're able to haul long beams, pipes, etc. Couldn't be happier.

I've never ridden dirt bikes or anything other than a moped before buying this thing and I have to say I immediately felt comfortable on it and riding it off the lot was like taking a puppy home from the adoption clinic. I've had it for 2 months now and have progresses immensely on it and I feel I will not outgrow it for at least a couple years. The 750 engine is no joke but it's also very tame compared to the race-tuned brother GSX-R750. I prefer less plastic and a taller wheelbase for more clearance but I also prefer longer rides. First 5000 miles went by quicker than the blink of an eye. I'm in love.
